These not only provide all the essential nutrients required in our diet, but are especially recommended for people with problems of high cholesterol and weight watchers.   • Trend 2: Organic Food Trend - This is another trend of healthy eating which has made its place in the world of the health conscious. Organic food is the practice of growing foodstuff with minimal exposure to chemical pesticides. Though it does not necessarily guarantee nutritional quality, it definitely is a sign that the produce is not adulterated.
  • Trend 3: Flexitarianism - An extremely popular healthy food trend in America, the flexitarianism trend means eating primarily plant products like vegetables, fruits, grains etc and deriving the protein requirements from healthy and lean meat, fish or poultry. This approach is highly beneficial for weight watchers and those suffering from hypertension, diabetes and heart diseases.
  • Trend 4: Eating Fresh Produce - Though our life style demands processed and ready to consume food, the trend of eating fresh produce is becoming increasingly popular. Eating freshly produced food is healthy because it does not contain preservatives and all the natural nutrition is duly consumed as against eating processed food. This trend goes hand in hand with that of consuming locally grown produce. Studies show that food produced in "factory" farms takes 4 - 7 days to reach the supermarket.
